Scientists are determined to make Star Trek's holodeck a reality in the near future. This time the tool being proposed is augmented reality.

Displayed at the recent Digital Content Expo 2010, the RT2 chara AR Project, allows you to create a networked, real-time augmented-reality environment using a motion-capture system integrated with a 3D graphics engine. You can see the system at work in the video below.
