Racer, a video game that uses real tracks and real cars
Racing games such as Mario Kart and Wipeout feature some pretty insane courses. Designer Malte Jehmlich and his team wanted to recreate that for real, rather than building a digital world, deciding to drive a real car through a real track.
It still plays out like an arcade game — you even sit down at a proper arcade cabinet and everything — but you're guiding a remote-controlled car though a track that's in the same room as you. It's an idea that's been done elsewhere: Disney World has an Indiana Jones-themed
RC car game at its multilevel arcade, DisneyQuest. Jehmlich's Racer, on
the other hand, is all about speed, and features a neat two-story
track.
Check it out in the video on the OP.
