Do you like paying one flat fee to access the entire internet? Well,
enjoy it while it lasts, because Google and Verizon are about to create a
tiered-access internet.

When the deal is finalized, companies such as Google will be able to
pay to give bandwidth priority to their services, while small fry
websites will get stuck in the slow lane.

It could also go the other way, in which you pay to access certain websites and not others, sort of like how cable TV works now.

All in all, there are absolutely no upsides for the internet-loving
consumer here, only for gigantic companies like ISPs and, well, Google.
It's still not finalized, however, so if this sounds lousy to you, call
up your government officials and tell them what you think about it.

This is horrible. Someone call the internet, something has to be done.
