Japan radically redesigns the gas pedal for the bettern
Think about it: how much sense does having the gas and brake pedals
right next to each other make? Not a lot. In a panic, you're going to
stomp down, but you might end up hitting the wrong pedal, turning a bad
situation worse.
But the Naruse Pedal, developed in Japan, solves this problem. It
replaces the gas and brake with one pedal. To accelerate, you push a
lever to the side with your foot. To brake, you push down. This cuts out
any confusion or panic you might have in the heat of the moment. If you
want to brake, just stomp down. No problem.
It's a design that makes sense, although it would be sure to hit some
resistance from people who like their pedals as-is. But it's a safer
and more sensical setup, isn't it?
