Escalators traditionally have to move up in a straight line. There are very few escalators out there that can gently turn a corner while you ride up it, for example, any of which are custom-made and quite expensive. But the Levytator can do just that, creating curves and changes in angle quite easily.

The below video really shows the potential for this thing, as you can imagine on in airports that brings people up to a second level, turns into a moving walkway, then returns to the lower level. It's just a design right now, but it's clear that this thing is ready for prime time as soon as someone decides to install it somewhere.

Looks pretty fancy, but perhaps the endpoints are too close together in that example?

Would be totally cool if you could just stand on the "levytator" and just hog some space in some random mall without having to disembark.

cheers

Neato. Definitely opens up some architectural concepts. Would like to ride one myself.
