15,000 feet of fiber optics make one helluva chandelier
This is the "Bacterioptica," a wild chandelier made by the folks at MADLAB. It's now lighting up a dining room in New Jersey using 15,000 feet of fiber optic cable attached to 100 glass petri dishes.
The designers behind the chandelier see it as a living part of the family's home. Ideally, it'd be moved around over time and take on different shapes as need be, and the petri dishes are supposed to evoke some sense of livings things and, y'know, stuff. Really? It's just a gorgeous chandelier, and that's how we're enjoying.

Well, it's pretty cool, but I have mixed results here on that.
