Is Apple prepping a newspaper subscription service?
Newspapers, they aren't doing so hot. What with everyone just getting their news from the internet, there are fewer and fewer people willing to plunk down cash for a physical copy printed on newsprint.
But don't worry, Apple is here to rescue the entire industry! Just like they rescued the music and magazine industries! You see, the word on the street is that Apple is prepping a newspaper subscription service that would presumably help newspapers get money from people who wanted news on their iPhones and iPads.
Of course, Apple would take 30% of subscription fees and 40% of ad revenue. But hey, they're not going to do all this heroic rescuing for free, are they?

...they're planning to take over the world, aren't they?
