World's thinnest OLED TV is a (relative) bargain at $9,000
People have been saying that OLED TVs are the wave of the future, offering up brilliant color and brightness in very thin panels that are very energy efficient. What's not to like? Well, the price, for one, with Sony's first OLED TV, the XEL-1, measured a mere 11 inches and cost over $2,000.
Now, the tech is improving to the point where they can make bigger screens. And while LG's 30-inch 3D OLED TV might not be cheap, exactly, it's at least cheaper than such a thing used to cost. And hey, it's the world's thinnest! That's gotta count for something!
Really, we're still all just waiting for these things to come down to LCD TV pricing. But it's moving in the right direction, at least.

But how much energy specifically does one of these use? It's the same philosophy as with electric vehicles: price is too inflated for people to actually save any money because the breakeven point is waaaaay too unrealistic.
I don't think many people will buy these at first until they lower the price--until then, Vegeta will tell us what to do.
