Normally, concept designs
are at least loosely based on existing technologies, making them seem
possible and somewhat realistic. But not this Universal Translator! I'm
not sure we'll have the technology to actually produce this thing in 20
years, let alone now.













You see, it's essentially a thing slab of glass. You can hold that
slab up and look through it, and it will provide you with a context for
anything you're looking at, from places to objects. Oh, and it can also
translate from any language to any other language, both text and voices.

Sure, that's possible. I don't even think you could make a cellphone
that looked like this, let alone a device that could do all of these
magical things. But hey, nice renderings.
